CHICAGO, September 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — World Business Chicago, the city’s public-private economic development agency, today announced that it will host an event where small businesses can access tips, advice and trusted practices to help them grow their business.

“Through this program, we can begin to address inequalities in access to technology and connect companies to start-ups and technology companies to companies in the south and west of Chicago“, said LaForce Baker. “The event is open to all industries and participating companies will walk away with concrete plans and next steps to start, grow or scale their business.”

Small Business Technology Symposium Details:

The event will feature meaningful programming for small businesses, ranging from workshops to keynote speeches, a digital equity roundtable and a networking lunch.

After the event, businesses can receive free consulting services from business resources and experts in accounting, marketing, e-commerce, CRM, cybersecurity, web design, marketing, and other technology integration services. (The value of the average consulting package exceeds $175 per hour.)

“Technology is an essential tool for businesses, especially small businesses on Chicago south and west sides, to be competitive,” said Isabelle Velez-Diez, BACP, Director of Economic Recovery. “This event will help business owners learn how to ease the burdens caused by the digital divide and the technology disparities between our neighborhoods. We are working hard to ensure our business owners have access to an internet, software, reliable equipment, training and resources they need to maintain successful businesses.

“Throughout the pandemic, we’ve seen our small business customers reinvent the way their businesses use technology and revolutionize the way they work with customers, partners and employees,” said Tami Erwin, Verizon EVP and Strategic Advisor. “Our Small Business Days offerings and custom technology solutions are designed to empower all small businesses, improve the customer experience and move their business forward.”
