Startup Sylheti Dorik Raises Pre-Seed Investments

Dorik, a Sylhet-based startup that offers a flexible, easy-to-use and one of the most affordable website building service, raised a pre-seed from US-based investors.

Nabil Choudhury, Dorik’s managing director, confirmed the case to the Dhaka Tribune.

The startup uses 11 technology products and services, including HTML5, Google Analytics and jQuery, according to G2 Stack and actively uses 48 technologies for its website, according to BuiltWith, which include Viewport Meta, iPhone/Mobile Compatible and Google Font API.

The platform allows anyone to build a working website in minutes without any design or coding experience and is focused on expanding No-Code, which has seen an increase over the past few years.

The platform helps agencies and professionals create websites for their clients with no coding required. It also offers a wide range of features and designs that can be customized to meet every customer’s needs.

Additionally, users can brand the platform with their logo and color scheme.

Dorik co-founders Anwar and Mizan have been creating websites and website templates since 2012. They launched Dorik as a side project in 2019.

However, Dorik’s first landing page went live in April 2020 to find beta testers and early customers, early access requests from the day his landing page launched.

Starting with over 250 paying customers in the first week of its launch, the startup has grown steadily ever since.

At present, the company employs 45 people, working mainly from its headquarters in Sylhet. A few employees are connected remotely from Dhaka and Chittagong.

Since its inception, it has grown rapidly globally, having served over 25,000 customers worldwide.

“Bangladesh has many growing web-leaning businesses, not to mention the huge freelance industry. Currently, Bangladesh has thousands of web design and development service providers and freelancers, with about 1 600 agencies working with overseas clients. They can save time and money by using Dorik instead of WordPress, Webflow, Wix and others,” the COO of the platform told Dhaka Tribune.

According to top brass, when it comes to businesses, owners want to make the right investments that can yield higher profits and Dorik is easy to use and affordable compared to its competitors in the market.

With Dorik, businesses can save time and money, have more dynamic functionality, retain customers and therefore make more profit, Chowdhury pointed out.

“Not to mention that with the rise of young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, Dorik can provide them with a quick and affordable solution that can give them a huge boost.”

“The web design services market size is over $40 billion and the web builder market size is over $6 billion. More than 500,000 websites are created every day. It is one of the biggest markets. Dorik is loved by customers around the world and businesses will have no problem making their customers feel comfortable with the product,” he added.

Dorik was the number one Product of the Week on Product Hunt in Spring, Summer and Fall 2022.
