Ring of Elden has been the most anticipated game of 2022 for many of us, but it’s also another great PC game that fails to deliver an optimized experience.
More than two and a half years after its official announcement, Ring of Elden finally came out today! As already promised by FromSoftware and Hidetaka Miyazaki himself, Ring of Elden is truly the most ambitious project of this team of veterans, but the projects bring big problems!

Although the Elden Ring Metascore does not reflect this at all, PC gamers experience a frustrating experience in Elden Ring due to severe stuttering issues and sudden frame drops.
We all know what a brief frame drop or stutter means in a FromSoftware game, where timing matters more than anything. In a game like Ring of Eldenyou will not stand a chance against your brutal enemies in the presence of technical problems.
PC gamers express frustration with Elden Ring optimization on Reddit and Steam
Just a quick glance at steam page of Ring of Elden will convince you that things don’t look good for PC gamers. As some of the players have reported, they experience major frame drops once they enter the open world areas of the game.
According to a Reddit user running Elden Ring on an RTX 3080 based PC, the game couldn’t even hit 60FPS at 1080p when idle. As the player moves, the frame rate drops to around 45, and when the screen gets a bit more cluttered, it drops to below 30.
Some gamers want an FPS limiter on PC to allow them to at least lock the frame rate to 30 FPS and get rid of sudden frame rate changes.
While the Day 1 patch was supposed to fix the stuttering issue, it seems the problem is still there. Thus, it’s still unclear how the game performed for reviews even before this patch.
Ring of Elden is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
