Site managers overseeing David Wilson Homes developments in Nottinghamshire have won national awards for construction quality.

While overseeing the Bingham and Fernwood developments, they won the Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council.

David Wilson Homes senior site manager Dane Mumford, 36, who manages the Romans development in Bingham, has now won his fifth consecutive Pride in the Job Award, including two Seal of Excellence awards, after more than eight years with the developer.

Dane said: It’s a real privilege to be considered a winner again this year.

“Winning the prize and being among so many talents in the Eastern region is the ambition of any site manager in the housing sector. I owe everything to the trades, to the workers, to the site workers, to the forklift operators, to the subcontractors and to the management team because without their commitment and their efforts, this would not be possible.

Dane McMurtry, 38, oversees the development of Fernwood Village in Fernwood and was also named the winner.

He said: “It’s great to have won my first ever award as Site Manager as it means that all the hard work that I and the team have put in has paid off.

“I would like to thank our Deputy Site Manager, Jack Bailey, who has been instrumental in the success of the site.”

John Brebner, 55, also manages the development of Fernwood Village. He has already won five Pride in the Job awards and two Seal of Excellence awards.

John said: “I am immensely proud of my team, managers, contractors and especially trades on site, for what we have achieved during this difficult year with both the aftermath of covid-19 and the problems supply and delivery of Material.

“Everyone has worked hard to deliver a quality product that we can be proud of.

“I would like to thank Bill Moore (Assistant Site Manager), Adam Kirby (Assistant Site Manager), my contractors and especially the trades on site, because without them adhering to what I expect in terms of quality, this price would not be possible.”

The Pride in the Job Awards feature the best site managers, judged on a range of key criteria, including health and safety, technical knowledge, customer service and attention to detail.

Every site manager registered with the National House Building Council is automatically entered into the awards, with 450 winners selected from over 11,000 entrants.

John Reddington, Managing Director of David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We want to make our customers happy by building them high quality homes. These awards recognize only the best new homes and well managed developments and we are very proud of our record of winning more of these awards than any other home builder for 18 consecutive years.

“Every customer who buys a home built by a site manager who has won a Pride in the Job Quality award can be assured that their home is of the highest possible quality.”
