BEYA Pre-College Program to Host Metaverse Symposium Prior to BEYA STEM 2023 Conference – US Black Engineer


Career Communications Group (CCG) has announced that the first-ever BEYA Metaquake Symposium will take place in February 2023 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. Click on here to register.

The BEYA Pre-College program will be the anchor of the symposium, giving young people the opportunity to learn about metaverse and the tools used to create metaverse. In addition to traditional programming, students will participate in a school metaverse building contest that culminates in a metaverse hackathon.

The BEYA pre-university program is an integral part of the Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) Awards Conference since its creation. The program has partnered with organizations such as the Maryland Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA) program, various school districts, and the Patriots Technology Training Center to present programs for middle and high school students at the annual science, technology and engineering. , and Mathematics (STEM) held during Black History Month.

CCG is actively reconnecting with past BEYA recipients to induct a new class into the Alumni Hall of Fame. The 2023 winners represent the wealth of resources for the next generation to benchmark against their pursuit of excellence in their personal journey to becoming all that they can be.

The BEYA Metaquake Symposium will provide a deeper understanding of the technologies that drive the metaverse, including games, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), cryptocurrency, blockchain, NFTs, web 3.0, education and beyond.

Scheduled a week before the BEYA STEM 2023 conference, the BEYA Metaquake Symposium creates a forum to explore the technologies that are being harnessed by pioneers to create the metaverses.

Early adopters are leading the way by assembling some of the foundational technologies to create products and experiences that propel metaverse creation, just like Career Communications Group’s STEM City and BEYA STEM Digital Twin (DTX) experience platforms , which offer year-round programming.

The BEYA Metaquake Symposium will explore the ecosystem by bringing together educators, researchers, professionals, artists, gamers, and even novelists to explore and learn more about the metaverse.

We want to start the conversation that answers the question most people ask when they hear about the Metaverse: what is the Metaverse and what does it mean to me?

The symposium is for anyone curious about the metaverse and interested in engaging in discussions aimed at deepening their knowledge, identifying their entry points into this emerging technology, and understanding how its future may evolve.
